Medical experts say taking hydroxychloroquine is not effective at preventing the COVID-19 virus, but since Donald Trump doesn’t listen to medical experts, he took it anyway.
Now here are some of hydroxychloroquine’s side effects:
Headache, dizziness, ringing in your ears
Nausea, vomiting, stomach pain
Loss of appetite, weight loss
Mood changes, feeling nervous or irritable
Which is quite a coincidence because that’s exactly how I feel after listening to a Donald Trump press conference.
Readers need to know what’s going on to understand political cartoons because generally speaking political cartoons suck at explaining stuff; they comment on what you already know. And to understand this cartoon, readers had to know at least two – maybe three – things:
Donald Trump had just finished a course of hydroxychloroquine.
Sodium pentothal is also known as a “truth serum” – one of the psychoactive drugs used to obtain information from people who don’t want to provide it.
I got lucky on the timing of this cartoon because I drew it on the same day Twitter decided to apply a “fact-check” on two of Trump’s tweets that made false claims.
Do you have any idea how full of crap you have to be for Twitter to say; “Yeah, maybe you don’t want to believe this tweet.” It’s a high bar, but apparently President Trump cleared it with room to spare.
Stay safe, everybody.
Imagine that! A POTUS who tells lies. OMG!
Another great piece Lee. thanks for cranking them out.
