I don’t know about you, but right now I wouldn’t mind hearing some good news for a change. If you’re feeling the same way, you came to the right place.
And away we go.
As you might have already heard, two hair stylists with the coronavirus showed up for work at a Springfield, Missouri Great Clips hair salon and potentially exposed several co-workers and over 100 clients to COVID-19.
As you might have already surmised, that’s not the good news.
But this is.
The Springfield-Greene County Health Department says the incubation period has now passed for the people who might have been exposed and there have been no new coronavirus cases linked to the salon.
So how did they avoid new infections?
Health Director Clay Goddard said, “This is exciting news about the value of masking to prevent COVID-19. We are studying more closely the details of these exposures, including what types of face coverings were worn and what other precautions were taken to lead to this encouraging result.”
The Great Clips policies made sure everybody wore masks, salon chairs were distanced and appointments were staggered; health officials think all that helped.
It’s only one incident, but it’s encouraging.
At least in this case, wearing a mask in public appeared to make a difference. So until I hear someone who knows what they’re talking about tell me something different, I’m going to keep wearing a mask in public and hope everybody else does the same.
Maybe all those doctors and nurses who have been wearing masks for the last century or so knew what they were doing.
Stay safe, everybody.
Based on your opinions of the Donald and masking, one might think that you would insist he never wear one.
Thanks for the good news. A mask and a six foot radius have become my new best friends.
