Excellent, Lee. The title of your piece and its subsequent caption alone are golden. Very well thought out and written. Thank you.

First thing I saw about the shooting was that shots had been fired and there were unknown casualties but governor Parson was safe...Took a big load off my mind.

Great comments all but we’re preaching to the choir here. Why not get the Chiefs and Royals involved in this fight? Get Hunt and Sherman and coaches and players to press Parson and the legislator to get some sensible gun laws passed. They have the big bucks and it affects their parades. How will a new downtown ballpark be affected? All the good wishes and prayers offered by the teams does absolutely no good for the next victims. Lots of gun happy elected officials were there Wednesday and ran when the shots rang out. Why didn’t they pull out their guns and shoot the perpetrators. Hell no - they ran. Just like Hawley on Jan 6. Sons of bitches.

You mean vote against the stadium subsidy unless they do something about guns?

Our major cities have become shooting galleries because inbred clods in Jefferson City are forced down our throats by triggered rural MAGA fans who, by and large, still have “Let’s Go Brandon” signs on their fences and arsenals stacked up in unlocked, open gun safes in their bedrooms. Missouri is particularly egregious

Until people sit down in mediated groups throughout the country to discuss this in a non-emotional way, we will not see a change in any of the behaviors or regulations that govern the use of firearms. Everyone is very happy to get vocal about whatever side of the bandwagon they happen to be hanging off of, but until people actually take personal responsibility and invite discussion, nothing will change. What are we waiting for on solving this? Politicians to form these discussion groups? - that's bullshit, and will never happen. Speak up and sit down together to discuss the thinking behind the issues. Hah, that will take forever but unless a start is made, there will be no change... Period the end.

Maybe if our sports heroes got involved in this issue, something might happen. Has the team got anything to say about it?

As far as I know we've just got more of that "thoughts and prayers" crap from everybody, but I'm under the impression Mickey Mantle could come back from the dead and say our gun policies are crazy and it wouldn't change a damn thing. According to Ballotpedia, Republicans control both chambers of the Missouri legislature and if Republicans won't stand up to Trump, they're not going to stand up to the gun lobby.

U. S. System of government: rampant and open bribery. Not to mention that you can carry anywhere except for the Republican or NRA conventions.

It's so infuriating that nothing is done about gun violence by some of our so-called leaders. It's a surreal nightmare. My condolences to Kansas City people just trying to celebrate an awesome win.

Well written. I just shake my head at the Missouri Republicans, like Denny Hoskins, who then claimed that it was an illegal immigrant who was behind the parade shooting. Therefore, it’s not a gun issue but a border issue. Sad to say but that POS was actually my financial advisor back when. I guess we all are guilty of shitty judgement

When I first heard about this my first thought was some anti-woke nitwit nursing a grudge because the Chiefs game was somehow “fixed” during the last 3 seconds was on a shooting spree - that’s how bad this has gotten.

If it really was just a couple of teenagers fighting for who knows why, it’s telling that they managed to do so much damage but somehow missed each other. So much for the efficacy of handguns.

Okay but when are we gonna talk about the religion part.... the guns are surely a means to an end, like a prophecy or something, or so I have heard.
