Lee, I've been a baseball fan since I was five. That was [redacted] years ago, but the A's had just arrived in KC. My dad played ball for barnstormers in the '30s. I was a crappy ball player, a truly crappy catcher, but I've always loved the game. I've learned more about the game reading your stuff than I ever knew before.

Thank you for putting all this out there. It is truly appreciated.

I was in the same boat: A baseball fan all my life, thought I knew the game until I started hanging out with pro players and coaches and was thrilled to find out there was way more to it than I ever imagined. And knowing that stuff made the games much more interesting.

I'm happy to share that with anyone who wants to hear it. And a surprising number of baseball fans don't want to hear it because it contradicts what they already believe. It's nice hearing from open-minded people who want to learn about the game.

So, thanks, Bud.

I don't want to sound like a broken record, but thanks again!

No worries. During the 10 years I did Judging the Royals I took so much shit from upset Moneyball fans it'll take 10 years of compliments to get even. Glad you're enjoying it.

Not thinking works in many areas of human endeavor. I trust my gut so much more than my brain! Big fan of brain bypass.

I am enjoying these playoffs so much more because you have made me a better baseball fan.

Thanks, JR, that's the goal. The players and coaches made me a better baseball fan and I notice so much more than I used to. Just trying to pass along the information the players passed along to me.
