I have returned to Kansas City after a vacation in my home state – California – and in just two short weeks I’d forgotten what it felt like to breathe air the consistency of warm tapioca.
I grew up Long Beach, CA and moved to Lee’s Summit in 1989. Now I have lived here for longer than I lived there, but I still miss it. It’s a great place to live if you have money. If California was on Yelp it would have $$$$$. It’s great to visit and vacation though.
Right after we shuck corn and check on the still. Although I can't get too outraged because the first time someone told me they liked to play "cornhole" I thought it was time to move. And God only knows what you have to do to win the Cornhole Championship.
Having been born in NYC and spent most of my life in KC, I can easily support your "thesis that the latter is by far the best for living. I've often postulated that "NYC is a great place to visit but no place to raise a family".
I love NY, but like California it's expensive which is why I doubted my cabbie was spending a lot of time at the opera. What's the point of having all that stuff if you can't afford to enjoy it?

Yeah, that $$$ issue is a problem. Love it there, though.

Cornhole, that’s a prison game, isn’t it?
Oh, cornhole. I will never understand.
