I agree with your editorial opinion - I learned a ton about baseball reading your articles the last few years, made me enjoy watching the game a lot more. An annual review of some things is welcome!
Thanks. I always felt somebody would have missed what I wrote the year before and if they had read it, I could find something new to add. The players and coaches taught me all that stuff and I'm happy to pass it along to other baseball fans.
Took the family to Royals spring training the spring after they won the World Series... crowds were masses.. we actually liked the Indians/Reds stadium better. Finding things to do after was a challenge... after Sedona , and the Grand Canyon we just enjoyed our sunburns..
If you ever go back, try the Giants park in Scottsdale, one of my favorite's plus there's a lot going on in Scottsdale. Also, visit the Valley Ho Hotel which was a hangout of the original Ratpack and is like taking a time machine back to the swinging 60s. But don't try to get from one side of Phoenix to the other at rush hour.
