Hoping for the best from the Padres tonight! I don't know about the fWAR, wRC+, xwOBA and all that but if the pitching is good we usually win.
You've got it figured out. If you do everything else well, but pitch poorly you're probably going to lose; if you do everything else poorly, but pitch well you'll probably be competitive. Pitching is the biggest thing and always will be.

With Their emphasis on defense and starting pitching the Royal.s are well positioned to get at least one series.
line up should be Massey at second, Bobby at ss, vinny DH, Sal first, Freddy catching, Hunter RF, ? in LF, Mikel at 3b, and and Izzy in CF.
It'd be a lot more fun watching the Royals' playoff games if I didn't have to go to a bar to watch.
