I loved reading "Judging the Royals" columns, I learned a lot about baseball and just how complicated it could be. When you left the Star, I followed you because I enjoy reading what you write, the humor makes me smile. I enjoy whatever you decide your write, but currently do look forward to the political cartoons.
I am a die-hard baseball fan, so I really enjoyed your “Judging the Royals” columns, which is why I subscribed to your blog when The Star let you go. I also enjoyed your editorial cartoons, and I was pleased when they started showing up in your blog along with your political perspectives. The family stuff is fun, too, because it reminds me of my own family, with all the crazy aunts and uncles, in-laws and outlaws. So whatever you want to share is fine with me.
I'm going to join the chorus and say write what you feel. When I moved to Kansas City in 2007, I discovered your wonderful cartoons in the Star and followed your posts religiously. I moved from Salt Lake City to KC, so I went from Pat Bagley to finding you. I still follow Pat and am glad I found you here, to satiate my diet of political cartoons. So, those are my main draw, but I love your baseball stories and (always) personal tales are welcome.
I love your misadventures. You did the potty dance after taking an 80mph fastball after kvetching a Royal should have on a bad pitch to get on base. Still got the bruises and your kidney? When you fuck up, you man up.
I'm happy to read whatever you write on any given day. I came for the baseball but stay because you're a damn good writer that makes each day easier to get through.
Have loved your articles and baseball insights since the start, and still do - very hopeful for a better times ahead and look forward to more inside scoop should you go that direction again.
I do not enjoy the heavy accent on politics and yesterday (ironically given your question today) I had sadly considered cancelling my subscription.
Regardless of what you decide, thank you for years of wonderful, informative, clever and fun articles, and I'll keep an eye out for a return to that!
Please don't take any of it away...well, maybe after the election, we can go back to other life stuff, but for now, I am eager to see what morning mischief you will bring my way and happy as hell to get it. Be well, and stay safe.
Both your cartoons and your essays are stylistic and goofy, and I like them both, no matter the topic. Too bad about less access to The Royals; your baseball insights have been really interesting.
Enjoy reading about anything you write, Lee. I learn about baseball and I discover my family isn’t the only really weird DNA pool on the planet!
I think the current mix is fine, but like others have commented I enjoy reading anything you write and really enjoy your cartoons.
I like to read anything you write. Anyone who complains should get their own blog.

Whatever you write about, I'm gonna read. You are one of my favorite writers.

Keep on trucking Lee!
D! I love all the stuff! Also, what’s happened with Jason Kendall?

Keep going any direction you want. I find it to be mostly harmless.
