(2) Being a few years younger than you, my experience of John Fogerty is his early 80s album, "Centerfield," which included the immortal track, "The Old Man Down the Road," 75 percent of the lyrics of which consisted of the words "hidey hide."
(3) My personal high school era earworm for the day as a result of reading your blog post is "De Do Do Fo, De Dah Dah Dah," by the Police. Ah, for those days when songs SAID something... 😜
I know what you mean about autocorrect, which has added more mistakes to my copy than it ever fixed. Also, I enjoy looking into the background of some of the stuff I write about and Carmen Miranda had a much more controversial career than I ever knew: some people didn't like her because she was too Latin and other people didn't like her because she wasn't Latin enough. Died at 46 which seems a shame because like you, the image of her dancing with some fruit on her head (at one time she was a hat maker) makes me smile.
