My dad worked for the old Armco Steel Plant in northeast KC until 1982 when he took early retirement at 56 rather than the other possible option, which was to wait to be laid off. He is now 93.75 years old and has been drawing a pension more than twice as long as he worked for Armco. :D however, he will be the first to tell you that AK Steel, who assumed Arm's pension obligations some years back, is the only steel company in the US who has made good on them.
A great cartoon, astute commentary and baseball is right around the corner. That's enough to pull a day out of the crapper (at least through 9:50).

I am glad to have 2 so-so pensions..but really lucky to have a wife who has 8 years until she retires..
That is hard to argue with.
