I'm pulling for the Mariners and Braves because I used to work out with the Mariners' GM Jerry Dipoto (and by "working out" I mean Jerry would strike me out about a hundred times a winter...I helped him build his confidence) and I know Kevin Seitzer the Braves' hitting coach and two of their announcers, Jeff Francoeur and Peter Moylan from their days with the Royals and those are two of the funniest guys in baseball. If you gotta cover 162 games guys who make you laugh are priceless.
Not sure I've got a take worth having. I've heard too many behind the scenes stories to assume I know exactly what that was about. But...having said that, it came across as "we're getting our asses kicked and maybe I can distract this guy" which seems like a petty, desperate move when you don't have an answer for what's happening.
I was in S.D. For the Gaylord Perry and Mickey Lolich days and saw some funny stuff in person. Perry touched every part of his body before every pitch. Something we should all emulate.
A pitcher’s duel, an 8-1 come from behind, omg that sad-ass no bunt… these playoffs have had it all. A Most Wonderful time of the year! Go Mariners!

Anxiously awaiting your take on Showalter’s move which felt to me like a page from “the election was rigged.”

Thanks, yeah, definitely had that feel.

My favorite type of Lee Judge articles!
And the playoffs are closer to “real” baseball. No ghost runner, but the DH in NL is horrible.
I agree with everything you just said.
