This is why we are former Royals fans. Not seeing games on TV didn't encourage me to go to games. It made me lose interest in MLB.

I get DirectTV Streaming, which at this point shows Royals games via Bally. That was almost the only reason for getting it. I chatted online, by email, and by phone with customer service to make sure I would get the local channel with ROYALS baseball and I am so pissed that BallyDiamondSin ... okay I really don't have words anymore.

Yeah, I almost made the same mistake; paying DIRECTTV Streaming so I could see Royals games that they may not carry. Now I'm just waiting for them to get their shit straight and hoping it happens before Opening Day.

I had the MLB Royals feed when I lived in Las Vegas in the early 2000's. The entire West coast was blacked out for Royals games for "market protection" even though San Francisco was 600 miles away and LA 350 miles away. MLB said they were looking in to "fixing" this problem but 23 years later and they still haven't figured out television or for that matter loyal baseball fans. I don't know how baseball survives such pathetic management.

Paid attendance keeps going down and they've had to change the rules to make games more interesting so poor management seems to be taking a toll.

Great piece. I live in western Iowa and have been blacked out of the Twins, Brewers, White Sox, Cubs,

Royals and Cardinals for over 20 years. I was ecstatic this spring when I was allowed the opportunity to purchase a Bally sports package that had the Royals. 2 weeks later the Bally Sports or Sinclair Sports Group or Diamond sports Group made public the financial troubles that have befallen them. My summer of watching the Royals for the first time in decades has been cast into doubt...again. If your friend has room at his place, I'd gladly sleep in the garden shed or doghouse for a chance to watch some games.

First, I have to weasel my way in there...after that, we'll see.

Not to make you jealous, but all three of the Wecker boys are headed to Phoenix on Monday to see the A’s, Reds, Giants, Dodgers, and Team USA play in Mesa, Scottsdale, and Goodyear.

Enjoy the airplane graveyard beyond right field in Goodyear, but Scottsdale will make up for it (might be my favorite spring training park) and after the game go by the Valley Ho Hotel for a cocktail. It's where the Rat Pack hung out when they weren't in Vegas.
