So Donald Trump decides he’s going to “fix” the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool and have the bottom painted “American flag blue”—a dark navy blue—and it costs $14 million to get the job done (a no-bid contract given to one of Trump’s associates) but after they refill the Reflecting Pool with water from the “
There’s nothing preventing you from changing your name to Cochise.
Thank you for counting up the layers that now sit between us and the concrete bottom of the Reflecting Pool. I was confused by that. Maybe every time a new lie is told, there’s a new layer? “Every time we add a layer, a devil gets his pitchfork.”
My laziness prevents a name change because there would probably be forms to fill out and I'd prefer to keep my less cool name than do any extra work.
And you're welcome, but I'm not sure I counted the layers right; I got the impression they were winging it and forgot the main rule of lying: keep it simple, make it something that can't be proven or disproven and stick to your story.
Although I do like your theory of how devils get their pitchforks.
Anytime you lose two games by a combined score of 35 to 3 it's been a bad 48 hours. Gave up last night when it was 22-1 because if the Royals were going to make a 21-run comeback I didn't think I could stay awake that long.
On the other hand...
I'm glad for White Sox GM Chris Getz. When he was with the Royals he told me he was probably going to work for his for his family's medical supply business when he retired and I told him he was one of the smartest ballplayers I'd ever been around and it would be shame if he left baseball. No idea if that influenced him, but I'm glad he stayed in the game and is now having success.
If the Royals keep playing like this, Getzie's a good guy to root for.
I’m a White Sox fan. The last few years have been painful, but that just makes this year more exciting. When my Dad was alive we would visit baseball stadiums—some with Dodgers road games, some just cuz we wanted to visit the stadium—and Comiskey Park was one of my favorite stadiums we went to. The stadium itself was old but had great bones, the vendors in the aisles were classic, and the city didn’t disappoint. It was also one of the last we visited together. It’s great to hear when good guys succeed.

Can you imagine what the brilliant satirists of Rocky & Bullwinkle would have made out of Trump?
The field day of all field days.
And I always thought that with their own scheming, Bill and Hillary were good comps for Boris and Natasha, except Boris didn't chase skirt.
One look at Natasha, one listen to her sultry voice and you realize he didn't have to be a wanderer. Bill, on the other hand ...
But Natasha always seemed to get, or let, her scheming significant other off the hook. So that part of the comp fits.
Rocky & Bullwinkle couldn't match Warner Bros. for art, but the writing was top-notch. And, yeah, Natasha was a smoke show.
Ugly 48 hours for the Royals. Yuck.
