Pretty much everybody wants to be “cool” with the exception of people who actually are “cool” and the reason they are “cool” is they don’t spend one fraction of a second thinking about or trying to be “cool” and that’s because the very first rule of being “cool” (and you might want to write this down) is not giving a flying monkey fuck about what other people think.
My son thinks this will only go on so long before Trump decides he's had enough of Musk hogging the spotlight and will then get rid of him. Who knows for sure, but it's a theory I can believe in.
Caitlin, thanks very much. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, Substack handles all that and the only thing I control about this blog is the content. But if you've paid you should eventually show up in that column.
I will not judge others based upon their appearance. He IS oblivious to the anguish, pain, anxiety and discomfort he is causing to the nation. He also starkly oblivious to his own naivete concerning the differences in operating government versus a tech company.
Since I have to draw caricatures, for better or worse, I definitely judge people on their appearance and if you dig into the facts Musk isn't that great at running tech companies either. He did the exact same thing with Twitter -- firing people before he knew what they did -- and after he bought it Twitter lost 80% of its value.
His main talent seems to be self-promotion and convincing rubes to invest in him and his companies.
ahhh! I get it, he jumps in the air with arms and legs askew to make an X; that's hilarious. He may be a dork but a dangerous one. I can't believe that he has the power to terrorize federal employees and US citizens with whatever comes next, it's surreal.
Musk seems to have the sense of humor of a special-needs fourth-grader (I was going to say fifth grader and then thought, "Nah, I never would have jumped in the air to make an "X" in fifth grade because I was already trying to impress girls") so we have what amounts to a Petulant Child King making decisions about other people's lives.
The good news is people seem to tire of him quickly and while I'll miss the cartoon material, that day can't come soon enough.
Good piece about (f)Elon.
Thanks, Doug. There's a lot there to ridicule.
You can criticize musk and call him all kinds of names but you can’t change the fact that he is president of the United States

Lee, I paid you on January 23, 2025. Would you please change my status to paid? Thank you.
Caitlin Shively.

A very ugly one at that.
I've drawn worse.

I agree, can't wait for the end of the two child kings reign to end, fingers crossed.
