It's interesting that bisexuality is erased or censored from historical accounts. From Plutarch's "Lives of the Noble Greeks and Romans" apparently Alexander was said to have smelled very sweet and pleasant which was a sign of godlike attributes.
I think "normal" is an elusive concept and what was acceptable at one point in time becomes unacceptable in another. Same goes for location: there are still countries where it's illegal to be gay. Frankly, I'm not sure there is a "normal" there's just a sliding scale of what's socially acceptable and that changes all the time.
